  11. UNIX KERNEL ENGINEER: NETWORKING    -    NeXT Computer, Redwood City,

  15. NeXT is currently looking for an experienced UNIX kernel development
  16. engineer with a strong  networking background (TCP/IP, NFS, NIS, DNS,
  17. ...).

  20. You will own a substantial part of the NEXTSTEP networking code and
  21. will provide architectural leadership for ongoing development.  Short
  22. term work areas include performance, scalability, interoperability
  23. and robustness. Longer term responsibilities include  defining and
  24. implementing application programming interfaces and network services
  25. in an object-oriented environment to help us maintain NeXT's
  26. leadership position in application development productivity.

  28. Demonstrated architectural skills and UNIX kernel experience working
  29. with TCP/IP and NFS internals are required.  Experience with IPX
  30. protocols is a plus.  As your networking expertise will be a resource
  31. drawn upon by other members of our software team,  good
  32. communications skills and the ability and desire to work in a group
  33. are essential.

  35. The position requires a BSCS or equivalent plus a minimum of five
  36. years relevant industry experience.
